Vacation time can be hard to come by, especially when you have a busy family! We at EZ Home Search know that, and we have a solution for when you want a vacation but don’t have the time to take one! Below is a list of our Top 5 places to take a day-long vacation throughout New England. Try them out for yourself this summer!

Canobie Lake Park

Canobie Lake Park is a family amusement park in Salem, New Hampshire, just a short hour and a half drive from Southern MA. The park has everything from kiddie rides to thrill rides, so there is something to do for kids and teens of all ages. If you go on an especially hot day, you can enjoy everything that Castaway Island has to offer. And if you are too big to play in the water park, then go on “The Boston Tea Party.” The giant flume ride is not only exhilarating, but it also gets you soaked! Tickets are $36, but you can check out their website, www.canobie.com, for discounts.

Lake Compounce

Lake Compounce is an amusement park in Bristol, Connecticut. The park is one-half amusement rides and one-half waterpark, so there is always something to do! Be sure to go on the rollercoaster “Boulder Dash” while you are there! It has been voted the “World’s #1 Wooden Coaster,” and with good reason! It is 2 miles long and at it’s fastest goes 60 mph! It is definitely worth the trip to the park! For more information about hours, tickets, and events go to www.lakecompounce.com.

Edaville USA

Do you have a child who loves trains? Well then you should definitely take a day trip to Edaville USA! With rides designed for parents and children to ride together, the entire family will have loads of fun! And if you little one is a Thomas The Tank Engine fan, then be sure to go once “Thomas Land” opens up. For more information about Thomas Land, and Edaville’s hours go to http://www.edaville.com.

Water Wizz

Need a day of fun in the sun? Then go check out Water Wizz in Wareham! It is Southern New England’s most popular water park, and once you go it is easy to figure out why! Spend the day in the wave pool, floating around in the lazy river, or flying down the waterslides. Go to www.waterwizz.com to find out more!

Purgatory Chasm

Not really into amusement parks but still want to take a day trip? Then checkout Purgatory Chasm. The chasm is a unique natural landmark that runs through a quarter mile of granite walls. The trail is popular for hikers, picnicking, and rock climbers alike. Remember that the rocks can be slippery so please wear rubber-soled shoes or hiking boots for safety!
