The South Coast Real Estate Round-Up

Kids dragging mud into the house has been an issue for mothers for decades, probably even centuries, and it will probably be an issue for decades or centuries to come. But, with these simple mud room and entry way storage ideas, you’ll have the cleanest house in the neighborhood!

This mudroom storage idea is so simple that it makes me wonder how I  didn’t think of it before! You can get all of the makings of this at your local Home Depot or home improvement store! Its a great way to keep your things organized and the dirt off of your floor!

I love this simple idea! A bench and wicker baskets, what is easier?! Then all you need is a shelf with hooks to hang your jackets on and you’re done! It really is that easy!

Again with the crates! I guess I am just falling in love with the simplicity of the crates. This simple storage unit is made with crates and some paint. Then all you have to do is rearrange the crates however you want and you suddenly have a cute, easy and inexpensive place to put your shoes.

Over the weekend I took a trip to the HomeGoods in Seekonk and spent hours scouring the store. I had a cart full of things when I finished making my way through every aisle, and then I realized that I had no room in my tiny apartment to put all of the things I had so I promptly put it back. Before I removed things from my cart though, I took pictures of what I believed to be musts for your home, specifically in the kitchen.

I fell in love with this crate. I could just imagine it in my future farm kitchen someday with fresh fruit piled in it. There is something so beautiful and natural about the idea of having a farm fresh crate filled with garden fresh fruits and veggies from my backyard. It’s a perfect way bring the farm into your farm kitchen.

Another great rustic piece to add to your kitchen is this old time “EAT” sign. The chipping paint and that white wooden planks give it the perfect “pulled this out of the barn” look. The even better part? If you don’t want to pay the $19 price tag, then you can easily make something similar yourself.

Guess what? More chipped paint! This chalkboard is small enough to hang pretty much anywhere in your kitchen. Want to keep a list of things you need your husband to pick up at the store? Write it there. Want to post what you’re going to make for dinner so that your kids stop asking? Write it on the board. It’s both practical and and pretty, which is a perfect for any mother’s kitchen.

This one here is one of the most brilliant things I’ve seen in a while. Instead of keeping old plastic containers to store dog food in your kitchen, why not get a shiny tin made specifically for the food. This is a cute way to make your dog’s things a part of your decor, instead of hiding it from your houseguests.

Lastly, this M.C. Henry Whiskey bottle that would be the perfect centerpiece on any farmhouse table. Put some flowers you just picked from the garden in this bottle like it’s a vase, or pair it with other bottles for a unique country centerpiece.
